What's happening at Evangel?

About three years ago Pastor Jack Hatfield from Evangel Baptist started a dialog with Pastor Rick about the possibility of Evangel giving its building to Imago Dei. Simply stated, they felt that the building would be most effectively used for the kingdom by giving it to a church like Imago Dei where it would be used nearly every day of the week.

After nearly three years of sorting out the details and God's grace through the people of Evangel, Imago Dei now has a home where countless ministries can take place daily. Some of these ministries will include: School of Theology, Refuge, Mom’s Community, High School and Junior High, Home Community leaders meetings, Elder Meetings, Imago Kids events, concerts, a homeless shelter on freezing nights, a small food bank, and a kitchen to cook for homeless ministries.

Evangel will get free rent and continue its ministry in the building and enjoy brand new office space. Imago Dei will continue to have Sunday worship at Franklin High School.

The building is over 50 years old and needs lots of work. The first phase will include building out office space. For the first time since the beginning of Imago Dei, we will be able to get all the staff under one roof.

We truly are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to seeing many lives changed by Christ through the resource of this building.
